Day 24 - mini-vacation, WAIT! I CAN EXPLAIN! Weight loss,

Weight 236.

BUT I CAN EXPLAIN! (while hanging my head in shame.)

We brought the weights, videos, restriction bands, and good attitudes with us so we could work out while we went away for a long weekend.

It started out well---
Saturday night (Day 20) I did the workout & indulged a little at the company party that night. Sunday, we drove 3 hours to Timber Ridge Lodge so the kids could have a fun indoor waterpark experience. We needed some family time together and there was a sweet 50 - 75% off Groupon for Timber Ridge, so we took it. (The water park was great.)

Immediately on Sunday, we KNEW we had to work out... but we were so excited we all opted to run down to the waterpark. By closing time, we were exhausted. Abby & I closed the park... we returned to our room & fell asleep shortly thereafter.

Monday - We woke up & went down to the park when they opened.

I counted the 57 stairs up to the top slide with the girls as we went up. By my rough estimate --- I think I walked about 5,700,231,431 stairs on Sunday & Monday. I also carried a 5 lb. double tube to the top each time.

Honestly though, we probably hiked to the top about 50 - 60 times, so that's 3420 stairs. According to the Self.com STAIR STEPPING CALORIES BURNED CALCULATOR I burned about 50 calories every time I hiked to the top. (Seems a little high.) By this calculation, I burned about 2500 calories climbing. That seems a little high, but I'll take it with a grain of salt.

I also lifted Clara (both girls, really) from the water to the side of the pool at least 100 times over the weekend. Further, I tried to stretch my arms my paddling the tube (with the kids in it) AGAINST the flow of the lazy river... I did this often.

Wait, does swimming laps in the hot tub count for anything?

Yes, these are all lame excuses for NOT doing the workout all weekend and I am slightly worried about next week when the routine completely changes. We're entering 'phase III, month II.' I think now that we're tone, Jillian will kick our asses. She even says she will.

Even though we packed somewhat healthy food, we ate horribly for a good part of the weekend & that's where the extra few pounds came from. It threw my body for a loop. Now I'm back to drinking ice water in the morning & staying with the diet.

I realize that this was the PERFECT opportunity to get some good exercise in AND keep losing weight/staying fit. If I didn't indulge in bratworst, a few margaritas, pizza, a bag of chocolate covered potato chips (awesome, btw), chocolate covered pretzels, a bologna sandwich & a stop at Burger King... I could have LOST many more lbs because it would have been pretty intense.

I think I'm going to have to give myself a punishment every time I mess up or stray. Something bad enough where I won't want to do it again.

I need to reach my goal of 50lbs by May. I'm one month in & about 15 lbs. down. 4 months, 35lbs to go.

SO if I mess up between now & May, what should my punishment be?
