175 days until I climb Mt. Everest BC. Packing List..

This post is more some great references that I have been reading lately. I'm sure I'll be adding to this

post in the future. Please feel free to leave any comments and suggestions below.

1. HIKING SCIENCE BLOG: Though this site's last post was in 2011, there are 26 Scientific Articles and discussions on hiking mountains. (Why Sherpa's/Porters are more efficient in hiking than travelling Caucasians (aka. me)) Good reading.

2. AVERAGE HIKE PER DAY from Lukla to Everest Base Camp. This is for a 16 day hike. Somehow I keep going back to this; if I find a better map to do it in 14 days, I'll use that.

3. HIKING CALCULATOR: I was trying to find the average slope to Mt. Everest BC. I know it varies wildly and there is no straight path. However, I wanted to find an average for each day. As you notice, some days you hike 8 hours and other days you hike 5. Each day, I'm reading, you go about 1200 ft.  This has the benefit of showing you calories burned while hiking.
